Event Ideas

• Host a house party, and ask for donations in exchange for food and entertainment.
• Host a talent show and donate ticket proceeds to RAINN.
• Start a blog, and ask people to sponsor you.
• Have a yard sale. Get a bunch of friends together and pull your resources to have one giant sale, with proceeds benefiting RAINN.
• In lieu of holiday and birthday gifts, ask family, friends, and colleagues to donate to RAINN in your honor.
• Host an online or in-person, live or silent auction. This can be done via e-bay, or in conjunction with an event that you are holding for RAINN. Many local businesses are willing to donate merchandise items and gift certificates, which could then be used as auction items.
• Solicit online contributions by sending out an email to all of your contacts, both personal and professional, expressing your support of RAINN and why others should contribute to the cause.
• Host a battle of the bands and donate proceeds to RAINN.
• Host a wine and cheese night at your home and donate proceeds to RAINN.
• Commit to participating in a marathon, bike race, etc., and ask friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you.
• Plan a poetry reading at a local venue, and ask others to come out and share as well. Ask for open donations before and after your reading.
• Host a benefit concert for RAINN. Coordinate with local bands and venues to try and get the space and entertainment donated.
• Host a fundraiser for RAINN with your fraternity, sorority, or cheerleading squad
• Do a car wash
• Hold a bake sale at a local church, park, etc.
• Organize a brown Bag Day at your office or school and donate your lunch money.
